We were first introduced to this product through Dr. David Williams' "Alternatives" newsletter. For those of you who don't know him, Dr. David Williams operated the largest non-invasive alternative medical practice in central Texas until 1985. At that time, he sold his clinic and devoted his full energy to traveling around the world seeking non-traditional healing therapies and writing about them in his monthly newsletter.

In his newsletter titled "How to cancer-proof every cell in your body," we read about a nutritional supplement he considered the most powerful immune booster known to man - a compound known as MGN-3. The newsletter discussed the cancer research work of Dr. Ghoneum on 24 cancer patients where their natural killer (NK) cell activity had increased by 130-150% 16 hours after taking the recommended daily dosage of 3 grams (12 - 250mg capsules) of MGN-3 per day. After one week, it had increased to 800%. At the end of 2 months, the NK cells activity had increased to 2700%. (Int J Immunotherapy 98;XIV(2):88-99)

Our immune system is made up of over 150 different types of white blood cells. Of these, NK cells are one of the most common, representing up to 15% of the total white blood cells. Dr. Ghoneum believes they are important because, unlike other white blood cells, they are able to work more or less independently, and do not require special instruction from the immune system to recognize or attack a foreign cell. For this reason, Dr. Ghoneum considered them to be the body's first line of defense against cancer and viral-infected cells.

Drew University of Medicine and Science, Los Angeles. He spent the last 18 years studying immunomodulating substances - natural compounds derived from mushrooms, herbs, fungi and bacteria, and synthetic drugs like Interleukin-2 and interferon.

As promising as the opinions of Dr. Goneum appear, please keep in mind that his MGN-3 research is still in its preliminary stages. His research has not scientifically demonstrated that MGN-3 can prevent, treat or cure cancer in humans. No well-designed clinical trials have been published as of yet. If you do have cancer, you should immediately seek the care of a qualified physician. Cancer is a very serious life threatening disease and conventional therapy should be your first step in treatment.
